My So-Called Former Life Michael Ubaldi, January 26, 2004.
There was a time before the uBlog and my community service when I recorded and mixed audio in a timely fashion for bands. You could find my posts - daily - on the hobbyist-professional audio site, ProRec.com, run by the Skeptician's Rip Rowan. I now mix tracks from a defunct band at an unbelievably slow pace for the sole purpose of discovering what makes mixes go [optional adjective insert here]. But I visit the site at least weekly to catch up on the old haunt as one frequents a cozy bar near home. I learned a lot of things at ProRec. Scratch that, I learned just about everything I know at ProRec. And it's wonderful to be reminded that I gave back once in a while. (If you don't get it, go here. If you still don't get it, let it go. It ain't gonna happen.) And as an epilogue, I'll soon be recording a children's choir for a friend's promo short. Back in the saddle. Sort of.
