From the Top

I'd call this a resounding, high-level endorsement:

First Lady Laura Bush visited Cleveland this morning to speak at a campaign rally on behalf of her husband, President George W. Bush. Mrs. Bush was greeted enthusiastically by an estimated crowd of 500, and energized the crowd with a message of hope and success. Prior to taking the stage the First Lady met with Ed Herman and other local dignitaries. Herman was surprised by the First Lady's knowledge of his background.

"I was really impressed at the time she took to prepare for our meeting," Herman said. "She expressed a genuine interest in me and my candidacy."

Herman’s mother, Diane, was similarly impressed by Mrs. Bush. "She’s so personable and warm," said Mrs. Herman, "I’m proud that she is our First Lady."

The First Lady further voiced her support of the Herman campaign during her speech. "Ed Herman is a decorated military veteran," she said as she was interrupted by the crowds’ applause. "Ya’ll should get out and vote for Ed!"

Not only is Ed Herman a perfect antidote for Cleveland's suffering of the delusional Dennis Kucinich, he's a veteran whose experience is actually highly relevant to congressional military matters. John Kerry, the man who defends his senatorial record of making the military's job more difficult by claiming veteran status, fought thirty years ago and immediately after disavowed his service, with a few lies during testimony thrown in. Ed Herman served proudly in Operation Enduring Freedom, interrogating none other than al Qaeda agents. As he's said on the stump: he knows what they want and how we must fight them. Ed, fluent in Arabic, spent a year teaching English in the United Arab Emirates. A businessman as a civilian, Ed's invaluable to Congress and vital for Cleveland's national representation. If you're in Ohio's 10th Congressional District, take Mrs. Bush's advice.
